CALA Secures First Let in Motherwell

CALA Properties has secured its first letting at the Brandon Shopping Centre in Motherwell, since acquiring the 350,000 sq ft centre for £65 million in February, in a joint venture with Bank of Scotland Corporate.

Sportswift Ltd has taken a 15 year lease on 59 Brandon Parade South at an annual rental of £52,000 per annum. Sportswift will trade the 1,493 sq ft retail unit as Card Factory.

CALA Properties' Asset Manager for the centre, Roger Telford said: 'This letting is an important first step in our plans to improve the retail experience at the Brandon Shopping Centre.

We are presently consulting with retailers and the local council about further initiatives which we can make to the centre to ensure that it is even more attractive to occupiers and shoppers.'
