Brandon Shopping Centre website goes live

As part of its programme of investment and expansion at Motherwell's Brandon Shopping Centre, CALA Properties has launched a new website for the centre featuring a store directory, facilities, and news and events.

Found at www.brandonshoppingcentre.co.uk the new website makes use of the shopping centre's new branding as "The Heart of Motherwell", with striking red and yellow colour schemes.

The new website also features a map of the centre directions on how to get there, shop opening times and an update on the events programme.

Recently appointed centre manager Claire Jefcoate has welcomed the new website, as part of the centre being more accessible and hospitable to shoppers. She also believes that it will help the centre play a greater role in the community as Motherwell's town centre.

She says: "The new website will help keep people in touch with what is going on in the centre and what we have to offer. Families can coordinate a days shopping with events such as clowns, climbing frames, face painting and giveaways. It is another key part in CALA Properties' plans to revitalise and refresh the Brandon Shopping Centre, and it will also be important in helping to attract new retailers to the town."

In December 2007 centre owners, Edinburgh-based CALA Properties lodged a planning application with North Lanarkshire Council designed to boost the quality of retail space and provide a new feature entrance at Brandon Shopping Centre.

The plans allow for the development of the former Asda store, providing up to 74,000 sq ft of modern retail space, with new frontages to the mall and car park. Six new units have been designed to allow existing retailers in the town to expand and also to attract new traders not already represented in Motherwell.

The feature entrance at Brandon Parade South will provide a new focus and sense of identity for the Brandon Shopping Centre, and will be a key part of the planned improvements. The planning application is expected to be determined soon.
